WHEN YOU OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY THE WORKERS ARE NAMED LEGACY...

As the owners of the Jeremiah B King Guesthouse ,circa 1873 located at 272 North Main in Hudson we can tell you first hand that Bill Young and his team of professionals who make up LEGACY are the only guys who touch this house. They have saved our bacon from weather damage due to roof problems, ice backup water affecting the original plaster interior and a complete renovation to the lower level.

But first, let me tell you a story. Last winter we had three of the worst consecutive months for icecicles and sub zero temps in many years. Anyone who has seen the damage they can cause to a home will certainly understand the abject terror that comes over you when you see it raining, quite literally, in your house, between windows, down walls . We called Bill Young and told him of our concern that the ceiling was in fact, coming down in the kitchen and we could not get on the roof due to weather and what could he suggest? He was at our house within one hour..he was on a ladder and somehow managed to remove the ice hanging to relieve some of the pressure on the gutters. He then sent his crew of roof /gutter experts to our home the NEXT morning who simply removed the gutters altogether. It worked! Then he lined up the repairs to the kitchen, plaster etc. This work ethic is pure LEGACY. They show up, they know what they are doing and he prices his work out fairly. And he knew how to deal with this roof's rather unique qualities...it is a rolled roof. Yes, many a contractor would run away or want to do a tear off. He knew how to fix it.

These guys can do anything. They remodeled the lower level here in 6 weeks, start to finish. Now, this was not a piece of cake . There is VERY limited access to the lower level in a century home. This project involved getting lumber, insulation, and drywall in, running electric installing a fireplace and cutting with precision 5 inch crown moldings and 5 inch baseboards. Yes, building closets, shelving, all trim and immaculate painting.Oh yes, and they also built us a laundry room. And guess what else? They CLEAN UP at the end of the day...every day. They very resourcefully utilized the basement windows to get all this material in. Amazing. And here is another quality that is rarely discussed, the guys who work for Legacy do not swear like sailors while toiling in your home. Imagine that.
